To be tax-exempt under section 5(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual.
TAXABLE PROPERTY AND EXEMPTIONS. REAL AND TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY. All real and tangible personal property that this state has jurisdiction to tax is taxable unless exempt by law. Many common recorded instruments do not actually convey real property, or do not include any consideration, so the transfer tax does not apply. The transfer tax is due at the time of recording.
